How to Use (General Steps)
Always refer to the specific instructions on the product packaging.
- Preparation: The surface should ideally be free from dust, oil, and grease. Abrading the surface is recommended for better binding.
- Mix: Cut or twist off the required amount of the putty. Knead with your fingers until the two parts (often light green and off-white) are uniformly mixed into a single, uniform color.
- Apply: Apply the mixed putty forcefully to the surface to be repaired within the working time (10-12 minutes).
- Wet/Underwater Application: When applying to a damp, wet, or leaking area (even underwater), you must work the material forcefully and apply constant pressure until adhesion begins to take effect.
- Finish: You can smooth the compound with a tool wetted with clean water or by hand-rubbing with a damp cloth prior to it hardening completely.
- Cure: After 5-10 minutes, the bond begins to form. After 60 minutes, the material is hard enough to be drilled, sanded, or painted.
