Indigo Water Thinnable Cement Primer – Gold Series
This primer acts as the essential bridge between a raw, new cement surface and a beautiful, durable paint finish. New cement plaster is chemically aggressive (highly alkaline) and physically demanding (highly porous), creating a challenging substrate for any topcoat. The Gold Series Cement Primer is scientifically formulated to neutralize these challenges. It penetrates the surface to create a solid, stable foundation, while its alkali-resistant properties protect the expensive topcoat from discoloration and premature failure. Its versatility for both interior and exterior applications makes it a reliable and economical workhorse for new construction and renovation projects.
Performance & Key Attributes
- Exceptional Alkali Resistance:
- Its primary feature is a special acrylic binder and alkali-resistant pigments. This creates a robust barrier that protects the topcoat from being “burnt” or faded by the high pH levels inherent in fresh cement, a common cause of paint failure.
- Deep Sealing of Porous Surfaces:
- It effectively penetrates and seals the millions of tiny pores in new plaster. This prevents the topcoat from being absorbed unevenly, which in turn increases the coverage (spread rate) of your final paint and ensures a uniform, patch-free finish.
- Strong Adhesion & Surface Bonding:
- It forms a powerful bond with the cementitious substrate, providing a tenacious grip for the entire paint system. This significantly reduces the risk of peeling, flaking, or blistering.
- Reduces Surface Chalking:
- This primer helps to bind the fine, loose particles often present on a new plaster surface, consolidating it and creating a more solid base for the topcoat to adhere to.
- Versatile Interior & Exterior Use:
- Formulated to perform reliably on both indoor and outdoor surfaces, making it a convenient single-primer solution for entire projects, saving time and simplifying inventory.

Systematic Application Guide
- Surface Preparation: This step is non-negotiable for new walls. The cement plaster must be allowed to cure for a minimum of 28 days. The surface must then be thoroughly cleaned of all dust, dirt, grease, and loose particles. Ensure the wall is completely dry.
- Dilution: Stir the primer well before diluting with clean water as per the recommended ratio. Stir again to ensure uniform consistency.
- Application: Apply one even coat of the primer using a brush, roller, or spray, ensuring the entire surface is covered.
- Drying: Allow the primed surface to dry for at least 4-6 hours before applying the desired interior or exterior topcoat.
