Dr. Fixit Feviseal GP Pro is a high-quality, acetoxy-cure RTV (Room Temperature Vulcanizing) silicone sealant. The acetoxy-cure system means it releases a characteristic vinegar-like scent as it reacts with moisture in the air to cure. This chemical process transforms the sealant from a non-sagging paste into a tough, resilient silicone rubber that forms a powerful bond with the substrate.
Primary Applications:
Its robust and versatile nature makes it the go-to sealant for a multitude of common sealing jobs:
- Window and Door Installation: Sealing the perimeter joints between window/door frames and walls to prevent drafts, water, and dust ingress.
- Glazing: Ideal for conventional glazing of glass into wood and aluminum frames.
- Kitchen and Bathroom: Perfect for creating a waterproof seal around sinks, countertops, bathtubs, shower stalls, and plumbing fixtures.
- General Construction: Filling and sealing connection joints, gaps, and cracks in various building components.
- HVAC and Ducting: Sealing joints in air conditioning and ventilation systems.
- Automotive: Can be used for sealing windscreens and other minor gasketing applications.
Method of Application:
- Surface Preparation: For optimal adhesion, ensure surfaces are structurally sound, clean, dry, and free from any dust, dirt, oil, grease, or old sealant. Use masking tape on adjacent surfaces for a neat finish.
- Cartridge Preparation: Trim the tip of the nozzle at a 45° angle to achieve the desired bead size. Puncture the inner membrane seal of the cartridge.
- Application: Place the cartridge in a standard caulking gun. Apply the sealant by extruding a continuous, uniform bead into the joint, ensuring it makes full contact with both sides.
- Tooling: Immediately after application (within 5-10 minutes), tool the sealant bead with a wetted finger or a specialized tool. This presses the sealant into the joint and creates a smooth, professional finish.
- Finishing: Carefully remove the masking tape before the sealant starts to form a skin.
- Curing: The sealant will be touch-dry in approximately 15-30 minutes and will fully cure in 24-48 hours, depending on the bead thickness, humidity, and temperature. It achieves its full strength and properties after 7 days.
In summary, Dr. Fixit Feviseal GP Pro is a reliable, high-performance, and versatile silicone sealant designed to deliver a professional and durable finish for a wide variety of everyday sealing requirements.
