Dr. Fixit Primeseal

Dr. Fixit Primeseal is a water-based coating formulated with a high-quality acrylic emulsion and reinforcing fillers. When applied, it forms a continuous, flexible film that tightly adheres to the substrate. As a primer, its finer particles penetrate the pores of the concrete or masonry, sealing the surface and creating a strong anchor for subsequent coats. When used as a topcoat, it forms a tough, weather-resistant waterproof layer that protects the underlying structure.

Primary Applications:

Dr. Fixit Primeseal is a critical component of many waterproofing systems and can be used in several ways:

1. Primer: It serves as the ideal primer for acrylic and cementitious waterproofing systems applied on terraces, roofs, and exterior walls.
2. Standalone Waterproof Coating: On its own, it can be used to provide a waterproof and decorative coating for asbestos roofing sheets, concrete surfaces, and external walls. It is particularly effective for sloped roofs.
3. Topcoat: It can be applied as a final protective and aesthetic coat over existing waterproofing treatments to enhance their durability and performance.

Method of Application:

1. Surface Preparation: The surface must be clean, sound, and completely free from dust, oil, grease, and loose materials. Any cracks should be repaired beforehand. The surface should be in a saturated surface dry (SSD) condition.
2. As a Primer: Dilute Dr. Fixit Primeseal with water in a 1:1 ratio by volume. Apply a single, uniform coat of this diluted mix to the prepared surface and allow it to dry for 2-3 hours.
3. As a Topcoat: Once the primer coat is dry, apply two undiluted coats of Dr. Fixit Primeseal. The second coat should be applied in a direction perpendicular to the first, with a gap of 4-6 hours between coats.
4. Curing: The system should be allowed to air cure for at least 72 hours before it is exposed to heavy foot traffic or ponding water.
