COSMOS MRO P.U. Foam Spray Paint – The Professional’s Choice for Sealing and Insulation
Tackle your Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) tasks with the efficiency and reliability of COSMOS MRO P.U. Foam Spray. This industrial-grade, single-component polyurethane foam is a versatile gap-filler and insulator designed to simplify a wide range of construction, installation, and repair jobs. When dispensed, the foam expands significantly to fill cavities of any shape, creating a permanent, airtight, and waterproof bond.
Its excellent thermal and acoustic insulation properties make it an essential tool for improving energy efficiency by sealing drafts around windows and doors, and for reducing noise transmission through walls and floors. It cures into a rigid, durable material that can be cut, sanded, and painted, providing a clean and professional finish to any job.
Key Features:
- High Expansion Yield: Expands up to 40 times its original volume to completely fill large, irregular gaps, holes, and cavities, ensuring a tight seal with minimal product.
- Superior Insulation: Provides outstanding thermal insulation to prevent heat loss and block drafts, as well as excellent acoustic insulation to dampen sound.
- Strong Adhesion: Bonds permanently to a wide variety of materials including concrete, brick, wood, metal, plaster, and most plastics (not suitable for Teflon, PE, or PP).
- Airtight & Waterproof: Cures to form a closed-cell structure that effectively blocks the passage of air and moisture, preventing drafts and water ingress.
- Durable & Versatile: The cured foam is dimensionally stable, will not shrink or expand after curing, and can be easily cut, sanded, plastered, or painted over.
- Easy Application: Comes in a ready-to-use aerosol can with an applicator nozzle for precise control, making it simple to apply even in overhead or tight spaces.
Ideal MRO Applications:
- Installation: Mounting and sealing of window and door frames.
- Gap Filling: Filling cracks in walls, gaps around pipes, and voids in construction.
- Insulation: Insulating hot and cold water pipes, HVAC systems, and electrical outlets to prevent energy loss.
- Soundproofing: Filling spaces in walls and ceilings to reduce noise transfer.
- Bonding: Can be used to bond insulation panels and roofing materials.
How to Use:
- Preparation: Ensure the surface is clean, and free from dust, oil, and grease. Lightly moistening the surface with a water sprayer will improve adhesion and accelerate curing.
- Application: Shake the can vigorously for at least 30 seconds. Screw on the applicator nozzle. Hold the can upside down and press the trigger to dispense the foam. Fill cavities to about 50% as the foam will expand.
- Curing: The foam will be tack-free in about 10-15 minutes and can be cut after approximately one hour. Full curing takes up to 24 hours.
- Finishing: Once cured, trim any excess foam with a sharp knife. The surface can then be sanded and painted. Protect the cured foam from UV light with a suitable coating.
